From the very beginning of this project I knew exactly what I wanted the poster and flier to look like. Strictly Business is a local band in Bettendorf. I happen to be friends with the lead singer of the band, Katie Lampe. Whenever I think of the words strictly business I think of suits and ties. I knew I wanted to add grunge to the poster by not only having darker colors but also adding a bandage or something covering the mouth with their band name. After finishing the poster the first time, I noticed it was a little flat. To overcome this I added a design to the background of the poster, making the subject in the foreground pop out more. For the flier I wanted to take the idea of ties and have a few different ones hung up on a rack with a tile background. I put the tour dates/info on the two middle ties and had the band name at the top almost as if it were graffiti on the tile background.
